Register your dog to participate in Strut Your Mutt 2025 and help the homeless pets of Franklin County.

Join us at Rennick Riverfront Park in Washington, MO on April 26, 2025, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm for fun contests, activities and dog demonstrations. Walk in a short dog parade around the park, watch fun demonstrations by Present Moment Yoga Owner/Instructor Melissa Duchatschek, local dog trainers, and the Franklin County Sherriff's Department K-9 Unit. Browse and shop booths of pet-related items and participate in fun contests such as Best Costume, Musical Chairs, Best Trick and more! Lunch refreshments will be available for a $6 donation. 100% of the proceeds from this event benefit the FCHS shelter.

Again this year we will host an online 50/50 raffle to help defray the increasing costs of operating our shelter. FCHS was designated as "NO-KILL" shelter by Best Friends, a national humane organization, in recognition of our 93% live release rate in 2023 and we were able to continue this same live release rate again in 2024. Along with this accomplishment come the added expenses of caring for complicated medical cases and housing orphaned pets longer at the shelter and in foster homes in order to find them forever homes. 

 If you can't attend our in-person event, you can still support FCHS by purchasing raffle tickets on this event page and have a chance to win one half the total raised. Last year the winner of this spring raffle won a prize of $1576! Help us spread the word about the raffle and increase the jackpot total! The winner will be drawn on April 28, 2025 and will be notified by telephone.

Dogs Must Be Registered to Participate in the dog parade and contests.  Participating dogs must be up to date on vaccines.

****PLEASE NOTE: REGISTRATION IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Registered participants who do not attend the event may pick up their wag bags at the FCHS shelter during normal business hours; bags must be picked up by May 10, 2025 unless other arrangements are made with shelter staff.  ****

EVENT SCHEDULE (all times are approximate and subject to change)

10:30 am - Check-in begins. Pick up your "wag" bag items and browse vendor booths. Guess the number of treats in our treat "jar". Sign up to participate in specific contests. Visit with the Dry Creek Bloodhounds.

11:15 am - We invite all participants to join an organized Strut Your Mutt mini dog parade around Rennick Riverfront Park in downtown Washington, MO. Special recognition will be given to all dogs adopted from FCHS.

11:35am -Franklin County Sheriff's K9 skills Demonstration

11:55am- Canine Musical Chairs/Best Trick Contest

12:15pm -K9 Training Demonstration

12:40pm -Canine "Cup" Contest

1:00pm-Dog Yoga Demonstration by Present Moment Yoga

1:20pm- Best Canine Costume, Announcement of Winner of Treat Jar Contest
